Porta Hnos S.A. was founded in 1882 by members of the Porta family.

With the passing of time, the first liqueurs factory of the inland region began to add different products to its beverage line from the legendary Guindado Porta to the innovative Fernet 1882.

In the 1920s, the activity was extended to the ethyl alcohol industry, area in which Porta is today a leading company nationwide due to quality and technological development.

Under the direction of the fourth generation, Porta started to produce vinegar with the incorporation of state-of-the-art German technology making the company the main vinegar and balsamic vinegar producer in Argentina today.

In 2012, after years of developing technology in distillation engineering, concentration and anhydration, a new stage began for Porta with the construction of the first bioethanol (alcohol derived from cereal grains) factory in Córdoba. This model factory with 0% effluents allows the company to close the production cycle by generating its own raw material and opening a business unit: the provision of engineering, design and construction of bioethanol factories.

Nowadays, from the productive point of view, the company is completely integrated with distilleries, acetators, filling lines, packaging production and its own transportation, and it operates according to the ISO Standards 9001:2008 in all its divisions.

Porta is diversified into
6 independent divisions: Alcohol, Beverages, Distillery, Softeners, Vinegars & Balsamic Vinegars and Porta Engineering.
